Description

Oh my god... I FINISHED A DRAWING. :faint:

I almost can't believe I actually completed something. This is taboo. Either way, I'm pretty excited about it. Well enough talk. Time for explaining.

This is my FMA: Brotherhood/manga OC! I'll give you a bio (BEWARE! IT'S WAY TOO LONG):

Name: Naomi Sinclaire
Age: 32 (during main story)
Gender: Female (duh lol)
Height: 5'9''
Weight: 145 lbs
Alchemy: Smoke Alchemy
Military Rank: Major (State Alchemist)
Title: The Smoke Alchemist

History: Naomi struggled through school, finding it boring and not very engaging. She always had an interest in alchemy, but it was never offered to her as a class. After graduating high school, she moved on to a state college in Central where she excitedly majored in alchemy. Unfortunately, her detest for reading books held her back. Her teachers recognized her love for alchemy, and noted that she learned well by example rather than by studying. However, the fact that she never took notes or studied held her grades back severely. So, much to her surprise, she flunked out of school.

Being left without any formal education, Naomi stumbled to get her life back on track. She became determined to learn alchemy, even if she had to do it on her own. So she became a frequent visitor of the library, trying desperately to force herself to read even just the basics of alchemy. After about a year of persistently running back and forth between the library and the combat gym, she finally began the basics.

With her new skills acquired, she tried learning more advanced alchemy. However, she could never stay patient enough to get particularly good at one specific type. The only type she seemed to latch onto was one from a much smaller, less developed book: smoke alchemy. She was first intrigued by the concept (and, of course, the small size of the book), but she eventually became frustrated that there wasn't much material to learn. There simply wasn't enough discovered yet. So she abandoned it.

Determined to find a powerful form of alchemy fast, she weeded through books until she found one that seemed to hold more promise: an amateur take on flame alchemy. Not realizing how dangerous and experimental the contents of the book were, she took it to the gym. Out of her ineptitude, she lost control of the fire and the whole gym became engulfed in flames. Naomi tried to escape, but there was no way out. She coughed uncontrollably from the smoke and she slowly started losing consciousness. In her last bit of strength, she reached for a hand blade that was just within her vision. Cringing, she dug the blade deep into her hands, carving the two halves of the smoke transmutation circles that she had learned before. Clapping her bloodied palms together, she pulled all the smoke she could out of her lungs. With her consciousness temporarily regained, she dragged herself through the flames and out of the building, crying and gasping for breath. She peered up at the crowd of people surrounding the outside of the building, and heard a voice scream that someone was alive. The last thing she felt were the hands of people lifting her up before she slipped into unconsciousness.

Naomi eventually woke up in a hospital bed. Much of her hair and skin were severely burned, and her hands were bound in rolls of bandages. The doctors recognized the scars on her hands to be transmutation circles, and realized her escape to be an alchemical feat. They assured her she'd heal, but she would be permanently scarred. But even the mere fact that she was alive was no short of a miracle.

Naomi left the hospital after a few weeks. She returned to her apartment, feeling defeated. After what she had been through, she was completely turned off of alchemy. With all the hideous scars on her body, she was sure she wouldn't be able to comfortably leave her apartment again.

With the Ishval war arising, word eventually got out about Naomi’s talent, and a military official soon visited her apartment for possible recruitment. He quickly learned Naomi was not at all interested in doing alchemy, but he assured her that joining the military would provide her with a more comfortable life. But Naomi stayed stubborn, saying she would never do alchemy again. The man decided to leave her alone, but advised her to think about the offer. He would return again in a couple days for a final answer.

Naomi spent those days thinking it over much more than she intended. Even though she loathed alchemy, joining the military would help her finally get her life on track. So when the official returned, she responded positively. He then told her the next step was to enter the academy and train for the military. Then she could take the state alchemist exam. Naomi reluctantly complied and spent the next two years in the academy.

In the academy, she performed surprisingly well. Although it seemed that she wasn’t very enthusiastic, she was disciplined and hardworking. While there, she mostly kept to herself. She never really spoke to many people, and she wore concealing clothing and gloves to keep her scars out of sight from her peers. Meanwhile, she found herself experimenting with smoke alchemy, teaching herself new things that weren’t documented before. She would tell herself she’d do it just to put effort into her work. She refused say that she enjoyed what she was doing.

Naomi took the exam almost as soon as she graduated. She didn’t want to waste any more time on getting her new job. While taking her exam, she impressed the spectators with her smoke alchemy. They found it unique and useful, and she executed it masterfully. After that, and after taking the written exam, she ended up passing and joining the military under the title “The Smoke Alchemist.”

Not too long after she was inducted into the military, Executive Order 3066 was issued, and Naomi was sent off to war.

...Aaaaand I don’t want to write any more because this is already eighty times longer than I wanted it to be. I was hoping to explain more, but that would just be disturbingly long. But all this goes up to Ishval, at least. Maybe I’ll spill more details about her when more pictures arise.

SO THERE. ENJOY! :w00t:
